Paul McElvaney is the Founder and Group CEO of Learning Pool, which he started from his kitchen table in Derry in 2006. With a background in technology and consultancy, Paul identified an early opportunity in online learning and introduced a subscription-based SaaS model that was ahead of its time.
Originally from County Monaghan in Ireland, Paul studied Communications at Ulster University and later completed postgraduate studies at Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. He gained international experience working for Electronic Data Systems, before settling in Derry to build Learning Pool.
Today, Learning Pool employs over 260 people globally and continues to grow following strategic investment from Carlyle Cardinal Ireland and multiple acquisitions. Paul lives in Derry with his wife Louise and their three children.
