Andor was born in the commercialization of Multichannel Spectroscopy equipment that I designed and built for use in my Physics PhD.
I have always been fascinated to understand how everything works and as Technical Director of Andor I was the innovator, designer and NPI technical lead for most of the Andor product range from Intensified CCDs, vacuum cooled CCDs and EMCCD, sCMOS, and confocal spinning disk engines. But commercializing these meant I spent about a third of my time directly promoting our products out in the market place, visiting customers and suppliers and gathering market intelligence.
